Straight styli are designed to inspect simple features where direct, unobstructed contact with a measured surface is possible. A ceramic stem is lightweight yet very stiff and offers built-in crash protection. Ruby is regarded as the industry standard for stylus tips. It is one of the hardest materials available and suitable for most applications. Due to adhesive pickup, ruby tips are not recommended for scanning aluminium parts. Equivalent to Q-Mark part number: TM4-6053-C.

The OMP40 probe has been designed specifically to meet the demands of small machining
centres and the growing family of high-speed machines fitted with small HSK and small taper spindles.
OMP40-2 is available with modulated transmission for use with OMI-2, OMI-2T and
OMM-2 receivers, offering increased resistance to light interference.
